Cotton knit tee combining lace structures with traditional gansey-inspired textures and contemporary knit forms.
Salt Bark Tee explores texture, movement, and knitted structure through a lightweight cotton construction. Different knitted surfaces gradually interact across the garment, allowing softer and more structured elements to coexist within the same piece.
The upper section draws from a peacock-inspired lace pattern, chosen for its softer rhythm and gentle wave-like movement, reminiscent of calmer salty waters.
Along the body, traditional diamond gansey motifs are framed by vertical pearl lines, referencing historical fishermen knitwear and its textured surface language. The sleeves introduce a more open wave lace structure, inspired by stronger tides and shifting movement across the sea.
Worked in cotton, the garment balances softness and structure while exploring how knitted textures can gradually shape atmosphere, form, and surface.
